Provide Support for Pathologists

People interested in this field should like working directly with pathologists; there are approximately 25. This role entails providing support for the pathologists includes ordering additional slides and specialty cuts, transcribing reports and gathering material to be sent for testing that is unable to be performed in house as well as expert opinions and preparing reports for conferences such as tumor boards. The clinical secretaries contact physicians, and outside facilities to ensure patient’s material is received and reviewed prior to patient’s appointment and there is minimal direct contact with patients. The Anatomic Pathology Clinical Secretary position is right for the professional minded individual who learns quickly and likes variation in the work performed each day. Staff who work during the workweek do not work weekends or holidays.
