Overview

Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and Clinics is home to the largest laboratory in NH, providing Pathology and Clinical Laboratory services to DHMC physician practices, Dartmouth Health hospital affiliates as well as to independent practices and hospitals throughout NH and VT. The Laboratory Assistant organizes, retrieves, and re-files pathology slide and block inventory, maintaining specimen storage and documentation of inventory within the Epic Beaker system. They receive and return external pathology material to outside institutions.

This is a per diem position.

Responsibilities

  1. Files slides according to established filing system.
  2. Retrieves slides and blocks from archive at the request of faculty and staff.
  3. Returns outside institutions’ pathology material, packaging and shipping appropriately and documenting shipping information in the lab system.
  4. Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate required.
  • Coursework toward a college degree preferred.
  • Previous laboratory experience preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast paced, demanding environment required.
